Your business is unique: the consulting is too

I help growing businesses find what’s really holding performance back. Leadership, strategy, the way work gets done and how teams work together – then design the fix around your organisation.

Where performance can get lost

Performance problems rarely announce themselves. They build up in the background, or in the space between teams, roles and decisions, which is why they can be hard to see from the inside.

It isn’t always something going wrong. Sometimes the team is good and the ground is shifting underneath it – growth, change, new tools – and what worked before starts to strain. Getting from good to high-performing is its own kind of problem to solve.

None of this is about blame, or who’s done what. It’s about where performance can get lost, and why the cause so often sits somewhere other than where the symptom shows.

Direction is set, but it isn't reaching the work

People are busy and committed, just not all pulling the same way. Everything’s a priority, so nothing gets finished – the urgent keeps beating the important, and everyone’s working to a different set of priorities.

Leaders stuck in the day-to-day

Drawn into decisions and conversations that should sit with their teams, they end up too close to the work to lead it. Individual contributors lose autonomy, and the leader loses the space to do the work only they can do.

It's held together with patches and workarounds

We’ve been patching things for too long. Workarounds sit on top of workarounds, and things that should be simple take far too long. It’s holding together well enough that nobody has had the time, distance or clarity to rebuild it – but it’s not designed for what the business needs now.

The business is growing or changing

Roles that were shaped for an earlier version of your business now leave gaps. Good people spend time on work that isn’t really theirs, things fall through the cracks, and the bottlenecks are built into the structure.

Something’s off in how people work together

The behaviours aren’t quite what you’d want. Meetings go round in circles, decisions don’t stick, and everyone’s guarding their own corner. It’s hard to articulate what isn’t quite right.

How I work

Diagnose first

Every engagement starts here. I look across the whole business, not just where the symptom shows, to find where performance is really being lost and why. You come away with a clear, evidenced picture of the cause, which you can act on.

Design for performance

Once the cause is clear, I design the fix with you – the changes to how the work gets done, how roles are structured, how decisions get made, what behaviours leaders need to model, and where accountability sits. Built around your business so it works in reality, and lasts.

Deliver together

If you want me to, I stay and help put it in place, working alongside your leaders and embedding it so the performance sustains once I’ve gone. Or I hand over the plan we created so your team can run it themselves.

Working with me

When you work with me, you work with me. The person who diagnoses the problem, designs the fix and helps you deliver it is the same person you meet on the first call – not a familiar brand name that sends in a team of junior consultants once the contract’s signed.

Behind that is over twenty years in people management and leadership, fifteen of them in organisational development, a master’s degree-level qualification in organisational design and development, and Chartered Fellowship of the CIPD. But qualifications are the easy part – plenty of people have them. What can be harder to find is someone who’s actually done this across many different organisations, and knows what really happens when you try to change how a business works, rather than how the model says it should.

That’s what lets me find the root cause quickly and design a solution that survives contact with the real world.

And because it’s me, not an organisation with floors of overheads, this experience comes at a price designed for a growing business.
